Future of the Mac Pro?

I think that Apple will continue to sell Mac Pros for at least a few more years. Many may think of Apple as being a consumer electronics company, but design studios and businesses around the world still use them, and they can't be ignored. Even if they represent less than 5% of Apple's profits, 5% of the world's most valuable company is still a lot.

Due to Apple's unreliable release schedules and the availability of Adobe products on windows many design shops have started the move to PCs. The bean counters like the massive savings and the artists don't mind Windows 7 as much as the horrible precursors.

But that's completely wrong. And Adobe stuff is nowhere near the only thing that a Mac Pro does.

Well we'll find out but rather belatedly this year.

Meanwhile it is easier to simply build your own. It isn't hard to build a Hackintosh for much less that out performs the Mac Pro, then you can test Windows vs Mac OSX easily, even add in Linux if you want.

When Apple starts neglecting one of their products the writing is usually on the wall.

Loyal Apple fans and those who have spent thousands on Mac software and other equipment are waiting for a new Mac Pro, and it will happen - the question is... when. :)

I think Apple is going through a not easy time. First, they have to accept that a laptop and tablet in one can exist and then, they have to bring together iOS and OSx, and then guess what, they have to design a device merging together the iPad and the Mac Book (They need to create the "Mac iPad Pro". Now, if they don't do it "now" or "soon", Microsoft is gonna catch up in apps and get the lead. Oh, I almost forget, do you use cellphone? do you have a unlimited voice, unlimited text and unlimited data (4g at 4g) for $49 or less? Solavei is doing it with no contract and more, you get money from them, pay your bills, car or house with that. Are you under contract? get the $200 bonus to get out of it. Do you need a phone? A Mac Pro will come soon imho. Probably a redesign too.
